Sarah Hyland, Matt Prokop split: report

“Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland and boyfriend of five years Matt Prokop have reportedly called it quits.

The actress, 23, and actor, 24, may have finished their lengthy relationship earlier this month ahead of the Emmy Awards, Us Weekly reports. The actress walked the red carpet solo, and spent time partying with her co-stars and female friends after the show Monday night.

“Sarah’s doing fine. It didn’t work out,” a source told the magazine. “She’s young. They decided they would be better off as friends.”

Hyland’s rep has not yet responded to a Day after day News request for confirmation.

The former Disney Channel co-stars met in an audition for a “High School Musical” sequel back in 2008. They later starred in the network’s TV movie “Geek Charming” in 2011.

“Sarah was enjoying L.A. and as soon as I met her I was like, ‘I’m going to date this girl,’” Prokop told Seventeen magazine in 2012. “I don’t know what it’s going to take, but I will make it take place.’”

He revealed details from their first date at a Mexican restaurant, saying he and the actress “didn’t have to work to impress each additional.”

“We were both there for the right reasons,” he said. “It just felt so natural.”

Prokop and Hyland lived together during their relationship and co-parented a dog, a Maltipoo they named Barkley Bixby.

“Pros: It’s cheaper,” Hyland clarified on “The View” back in 2011. “Cons: We’re both really bone idle. So, laundry and dishes, we complain about that.”
