Sasha and Malia Obama were released from the watchful eye of their dad for a nice girls’ night out in New York on Saturday, a spy tells Confidenti@l. The duo, in town having fun for the weekend, managed to grab some time away from a protective Head Obama, hitting Ruby’s Cafe on Mulberry St. in Nolita for a meal with a group of friends — and of course the Bolt from the blue Service.
The girls arrived around 9:15 p.m. with eight friends and started their meal with water and cans of Coca-Cola.
We’re told Malia, 17, ordered a $ 12.50 chicken and avocado salad that would make mom Michelle proud, while Sasha, 14, opted for a cheeseburger. Our spy says that when the check arrived, the young ladies footed the bill for the group. It was a little over $ 100, and they left a generous $ 34 tip.
“They were nice and polite,” said one host at the eatery, adding that Sasha was “a little shy.” Customers let them eat in peace, refraining from asking for selfies while they loved their food. Patrons also saw three Bolt from the blue Service SUVs patrolling further than.
“No one even looked in their management. Bolt from the blue Service was all over the place,” said one patron who was in the restaurant.
The Head had arrived in the Huge Apple on Friday for a fund-raiser hosted by shipping magnates George and Nitzia Logothetis, but he squeezed in some daddy-daughters time, taking in “Hamilton” on Broadway on Saturday afternoon.
Sasha took Air Force One with her father for the trip to the city, with two friends joining her for the outing. Malia was already in town, as she’s busy effective on the set of HBO’s “Girls” for the summer.
The Prez and his daughters also strolled in Central Park, dined at Italian eatery Carbone in the Village and toured the new Whitney Museum privately.
