See Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2016 Collection

With French fashion household Louis Vuitton unveiling their new Cruise 2016 collection in Palm Springs, California, creative director Nicolas Ghesquière held his resort show at the Bob and Dolores Hope Estate. Instead of a habitual airstrip, the 43-year-ancient French designer chose the funky, spaceship-like home of the late comedian as the venue to show his latest resort styles. On the footbridge, the Cruise 2016 designs had a 1970s inspired aesthetic with flowing hemlines, maxi skirts, and loose trousers. But, edgy, structured detail also made a futuristic splash, in the form of embellished handbags, bulky exposed zippers, fierce black leather panels and crop tops decorated with statement criss-cross detail. The colour combinations ranged from classic black and white to vivid pops of red and the odd hint of light brown or dark blue. Models had slightly wavy locks which were worn loose and free, to fully embrace the vacation vibe.

We are loving the latest designs from Louis Vuitton, which experiment with texture while staying right to the long skirts and fleeting tops that mark fuss-free resort style. Here’s a closer look at the key looks from the Cruise 2016 collection.
