The Unbeatables

A post-World Cup footy-themed treat, this is an ambitious 3D ’toon from writer/director Juan José Campanella (The Bolt from the blue In Their Eyes) with Brit actors voicing characters for the UK release. Its David versus Goliath report focuses on shy teenager Amadeo (Rupert Grint), who with the help of his desk-football players has to save his town from egomaniacal superstar Flash (Anthony Head).

Impressively designed throughout, The Unbeatables also keeps the laughs kicking, both in its characterisations and its nods to the likes of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Citizen Kane.
