‘Today’ and Angelina Jolie look unbreakable

AMY ADAMS, who still doesn’t know why her appearance on the “Today” show was given up for lost after she refused to talk about the recent Sony Pictures hacking controversy, may now be a little more confused. That’s because Angelina Jolie just did the same thing to the network, but her interview aired with no fuss at all.

“Al (Roker) interviewed Angelina Jolie on Thursday, for a piece that aired on Friday’s show. Al was ready on the set on time just after 4 p.m., (because) Angie didn’t want to do the interview live. So it had been agreed upon that she would do the interview the afternoon before,” one network insider tells Confidenti@l.

“Since Angie is always good to ‘Today,’ the show made all the special arrangements — directors, lighting guys, props, sound, makeup and hair — because she is Angie.”

But, we’re told Jolie didn’t start filming in anticipation of after 5 p.m. Upon arriving, she was told there were two questions set about the Sony hacking scandal, which Jolie became the focal point of when it was revealed that emails between Sony honcho Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin weren’t so nice toward the A-lister. Rudin had called Jolie a “minimally talented spoiled brat” in one missive discussing her directing “Unbroken.”

“(She’s a) a minimally talented spoiled brat who plotting nothing of shoving this off her plate for 18 months so she could go direct a movie (‘Unbroken’) … She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anyone needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming,” Rudin wrote.

At “Today,” Jolie immediately — and politely — shut the questions down, calmly saying she wasn’t going to address the scandal and wanted to stick to promoting “Unbroken.”

“Al questioned the questions, like any good journalist would, but Angie brushed past them, saying she didn’t want to discuss the scandal. Those were edited out of the final interview that was posted online. Had this been anyone else, the ¬interview would never have been booked,” says our source.

The final edited interview aired at 8:16 a.m. on Friday morning and was less than five minutes long.

‘SURVIVOR’ CHAMP TRIES NEW HOOPLA

At the Prudential Focal point in Newark, the latest “Survivor” winner, Natalie Anderson, sat courtside with twin sister Nadiya (with Natalie) at the Harlem Globetrotters show. The duo competed against the Globetrotters’ Flight Time and Huge Simple stars on “The Incredible Race.” Anderson was pulled onto the floor at the Prudential for the Globetrotter team’s well-known purse practical joke. Flight Time helped make her purse disappear, took her on the court to dance, then staged the end of the purse reappearing in a box at focal point court. The bewitching ballers play the Backyard today in their last area appearance.
