Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week- Day 3
As eye-catching designs paired with timeless prerequisites took over the runways, Day 3 of World MasterCard Fashion Week at David Pecaut Square in Toronto left us coveting the Spring/Summer 2015 styles. Here’s Real Style’s guide to the most memorable looks from the latest airstrip and studio shows.

Christopher Bates: Trained in Milan and based in Toronto, designer Christopher Bates opened his menswear show with a creative touch inspired by the silver screen. Opening credits on a black and white movie screen announced the collection. The grand entrance may have screamed “Hollywood,” but there was nothing overly dramatic about the straightforward looks. The designer stuck to sharply tailored black blazers, navy and white stripes and classic white shirts.

Klaxon Howl: The Toronto-based line introduced women’s styles to its collection for the first time at its Spring/Summer 2015 studio show. A flirty fedora with a bold black band added charm to a long light brown coat and to a black menswear-inspired blazer with matching shorts. Neutral olive tones made an appearance, with the fedora winning its place as a statement belt.
Rachel Sin: Rachel Sin kept a mix of business and pleasure on the airstrip, with a striking cerulean blue pantsuit and sleeveless colour-blocked dresses in dark blue, black and white. The collection stayed right to it’s theme of colours, with a black-trimmed open-front cerulean blazer and a royal blue dress detailed with a black neckline and sleeves. Dainty red and white floral prints and brilliant yellows made a charming impression at the end of the show.

Mackage: The collection played with fabrics and colours, from daring fringe on a dark pink skirt to black and white colour-blocking on a coat. A quilted cerulean blue blazer and a hot pink jacket existing a sleek vibe and inviting bright hues to casual looks. Dark blues were paired with black for an edgy mix of two essential shades.
Hayley Elsaesser: The young Canadian-born and Australian-based designer brought an explosion of candy-inspired brights to centre stage on the airstrip. Silver glitter sparkled in models’ slicked-back locks, while feminine frocks with a graphic bubble gum print stole the focus. Cheerful pastel shades contrasted with vintage inspired cuts and loose tops. Meanwhile, a glittering green dress transformed the show into a radiant yet laid back carnival.
