Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week Fall 2015- Day 3
With the third day of World MasterCard Fashion Week at David Pecaut Square in Toronto revealing an array of bold looks on the airstrip, we can’t help but look forward to the upcoming Fall 2015 season. From the fierce neon hues of the edgy Montreal line Atelier Wonder to the classic black and white outerwear at Mackage, here’s Real Style’s report from the front lines of the latest shows.

1) Atelier Wonder: The emerging streetwear mark was launched by Polish-born and Montreal-based designer Paulina Wonders, who has crafted Cirque de Soleil costumes and creations for Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in the past. At Atelier Wonder’s studio show, which kickstarted Day 3 in Toronto, eye-catching neon designs dominated the airstrip. The shades were jarring and spry, with a rebellious colour palette of orange and lime green. From shiny cropped jackets to punk rock prints and black graphic skirts, activist style was a right “Wonder” at the daring show.
2) Triarchy: Based in both Vancouver and Los Angeles, the Canadian denim mark was founded by siblings Ania, Adam and Mark Taubenfligel. With a quaint Camp Triarchy theme for Fall 2015, the show opened with two “camp counsellor” models marching down the footbridge with clipboards and matching denim jumpsuits. Triarchy featured distressed light wash skinny denim, statement patches on jeans, casual chambray shirts and matching baseball caps. A comfy creamy white jacket paired with a knit infinity scarf brought fall warmth to the looks.
3) Malorie Urbanovitch: The Edmonton, Alberta-based designer launched her line in 2012. At Malorie Urbanovitch’s studio show, the theme of Moroccan landscape and cultured inspired Fall 2015 looks. A sleeveless white dress was decorated with green grass-inspired feathers, while exotic and vibrant patches made their way onto knitted garments. With tones of dark burnt orange, rich pastel blue and burgundy, colours were rich and inviting.
4) Klaxon Howl: From a white shawl collar sweater to khakis, grey cardigans and crisp blazers, Toronto designer Matt Robinson featured sharp menswear in neutral shades at Klaxon Howl. For Fall 2015 women’s wear, the collection focused on androgynous style with oversized blazers, rolled-up denim, boat shoes and luxurious brown shearling jackets for the ladies.
5) Hayley Elsaesser: The rising Canadian-born, Australian-trained designer made a colourful splash last season on the Toronto airstrip and kept up her quirky, rainbow-bright signature theme for fall. With eye-popping neon shades and mixed patterns, looks were funky and modern at Hayley Elsaesser. From oversized furry scarves to snake print dresses worn with sneakers, the airstrip was filled with young, original colour in a shift away from fall neutrals.
6) Mackage: The Montreal outerwear mark, founded by Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan, closed the evening’s shows with a collection of classic designs inspired by the Arctic. With shades of cool ash, blue-grey, off-white and basic black, cool autumn and winter style was on the agenda. Black shearling jackets, wool with motorcycle leather touches and a belted long bordeaux coat were all tough yet timeless statement looks, Meanwhile, fringed detail made its way onto dark leather jackets and ponchos.
