While fashion and art are often interconnected, Viktor and Rolf has unveiled a new Fall 2015 couture collection which brings both of these worlds into one airstrip show. The Amsterdam-based fashion household turned to bold wooden frames, dresses inspired by painting canvases and architecture designs for its latest collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Co-creative directors Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren showed their new creations on a striking white airstrip at a gallery located inside the Palais de Tokyo in France. The collection, titled Wearable Art, featured structured dresses with splatter-effect prints and white canvases made of linen and crepe. With fierce prints which included abstract paint stains, a printed hand and sweet floral prints, the look of an art gallery reigned supreme on the airstrip! Paired with simple denim blouses and flat black shoes, these key pieces dominated the collection.

To further prove that fashion truly is “wearable art”, the designers had their models slip off their artsy garments, and then hung the framed designs on the wall.

Although it may be a challenge to strut the sidewalks in Viktor and Rolf’s edgy artistic frocks, the designs made a statement on the footbridge. Here’s a closer look at a few key pieces from the mark’s new Fall 2015 couture collection.
